Gravel bylaws permit gravel extraction 3 meters from all subdivision and individual rural residences!

This bylaw applies to everyone, not just those within the "Gravel Boundary".

Why would our elected representatives deem it appropriate to subject the families of our county to heavy industrial equipment digging and operating for a minimum of 12 hours a day for the next 5 - 20 years right outside of their property boundary?

What about our health and safety, our property value, our land stability, our peaceful country setting?

Are you prepared to accept constant dust, industrial noise and bright industrial lights fillng your yard and home for the next 5 - 20 years?

Do you think you could find a buyer for your home and move?

Can you accept a bylaw that ensures that the next load of gravel will come at the expense of families just like yours?

WE COULD LOSE ALL THAT WE CAME HERE FOR:

  1. Our "peaceful, scenic, rural living" (Derrill Butler, Reeves Greeting. LSAC webpage)
  2. Our quiet & safe roads
  3. Our clean air
  4. Silent starry nights, birds, wildlife
  5. Our precious clean water
  6. The real estate value of our homes
  7. Our peace of mind
  8. Our confidence in our municipal government
